"When Did You Begin Teaching
Stress Management, Sukala?"



... this is a question I am often asked whenever I am teaching stress management.

Since 1989 I have taught middle-aged women meditation and creative visualization.

Leading a busy life, they - perhaps like you - want to decrease chronic stress or illness and reach their life goals in good mental, spiritual and physical health.

 

Teaching stress management, I always include meditation.

Why? It is easy for you to learn and quick to give results. Did you know that meditation actually dissolves stress? It’s true.
In fact, medical research has proved five medical benefits of meditation that are also anti-aging--a nice bonus that I enjoy.

A former medical counselor and health care director, I’ve assisted hundreds of patients to release anxiety and pain with five minute meditation techniques and creative visualization.
Today, as an accredited Levels 1 & 2 Trainer, I am teaching stress management to corporate staffs and business owner groups. I use accelerated learning techniques in my seminars, so you actually learn faster, remember more, and have more fun learning.

I have studied eastern meditation for more than 25 years. Why?
Well, one morning I woke up with severe chest pain. I was 18. It hurt so badly, I thought it was a heart attack. It was anxiety. Back then, I was unhappy, worried constantly, and argued with both parents. But you know, that pain was a blessing in disguise. It made me want to find inner peace and calm.

My mind used to race, constantly thinking and worrying about one thing or another. Can you relate?
I read about meditation at university and thought I’d like to try it. I had no idea what to expect. To my amazement, it was the most wonderful, peaceful experience. My noisy, racing mind just quieted right down. And it felt so natural!

Soon after learning meditation, I had a direct experience of oneness - the total harmony that today physicists tell us underlies all forms of life. One day I was sitting in a restaurant waiting for a friend to join me. As I looked around at people’s faces, I felt I 'knew' each one. I hadn’t in fact, met any of these people before. I realized it was the love, the essence, in each one that I was connected to.

Meditation healed my family relationships too. After my father’s death, communication in our family was a big struggle. Soon after I began meditating my relationships with my mother and sister improved a great deal. Today my family relationships are deeply supportive, joyful and loving.

I didn't know one day I would be teaching stress management... Since 1981 I have meditated daily. Often it brings me a practical, much needed insight or understanding of a difficult situation. That insight changes the entire situation. At other times it’s inspiring - beautiful images like crystals remind me of the beauty of the inner Self.

Mystics and scientists now agree we are much more than the physical body. There is a spiritual power within us that powers our life and is intelligent, compassionate and beyond measure. Far more than stress reduction, we are transformed by our own innate power. I like to think of it as our inner Self.
