Stress Relief Guided Meditation
Most Frequently Asked Questions

During my stress relief guided meditation classes there is always time for Questions and Answers. You may want to know how creative visualization and meditation work... what changes to expect once you start to meditate... or, how will you find time to meditate with your busy lifestyle?

Below are some frequently asked questions from my stress relief meditation and relaxation classes and Teleclasses. You may find answers to your questions here, too:

Q. What happens during stress relief guided meditation and creative visualization?

A. Creative visualization is one form of meditation. In all the complimentary stress relief guided meditations and creative visualizations on my website, it's the guidance that is most significant. Your mind is strong and independent, as it should be, but the downside you may have noticed is often too much thinking. Often it's hard to turn it off.

But there is a solution. All the techniques I provide include guidance. Guided instructions do two things. 1. They relax your body. 2. They give your mind a focus and allow you to effortlessly glide into meditation. The style of stress relief guided meditation I provide throughout this website is called Spontaneous Meditation.
It honors and works with your natural ability to enter your heart where you can connect with your natural serenity. Guidance facilitates this, making it so much easier for you.

In guided meditations, you go past all your life roles, like mother, wife, daughter, accountant. Your stress is linked to these roles. I suggest listing all your roles... you may have up to 20! In your heart, there is only the Self, that Love, Source, God.

As you meditate 2-5 minutes a day you'll be better in all your roles and less stressed by them. When you connect with your love, you'll bring that love and relaxation into each role you have accepted. You'll be able to play in each role.

Another way to meditate is to identify and release an undesirable quality. Say there is one characteristic you want to shed. The guided meditations can help you do it safely and actually, one of the Guided Nature Meditations in the online guided meditations series helps you do this.

Using meditation to change yourself is an enormous benefit because it works and it's gentle and you're in charge! You become the person you really are in your heart.

You'll notice my techniques are quite short. You don't need to meditate for more than 2-5 minutes at a time to become calm, focused and energetic.

Q. What is the ‘inner Self’ you speak about?

Stress Relief

A. Dr. Wayne Dyer is often on PBS TV. He speaks of it as your Source and as your Universal Energy. They refer to the same thing. Other words are Heart and your inner Love. How you describe it depends on your culture and preference. Truly there are hundreds of names for that loving, intuitive and creative power within you.

In childbirth everyone in the room feels a profound sense of the divine. We call birth a miracle. That energy or love in the room is identical to your inner Self. It's not different from who you are.

The instructions for stress relief guided meditation will help you enter your heart. That's what Spontaneous Meditation does. There are various detailed written instructions on how to do it not only on the meditation and stress relief page, but on almost every page of this site. This provides a wide variety, simply use what works for you.

Mental and physical pain seem to be significantly helped by meditation. I saw this during my work at a medical clinic. Pain Clinics for cancer also use stress relief guided meditation.

You may find, meditation gives answers to every imaginable life question... in just a few minutes! Answers come from your inner Self. Your intuition becomes very strong and reliable with meditation. That's important for happiness.

Q. What specific changes will I notice?

A. Has this happened to you? You're upset about something and at that very moment, a friend stops by or phones. Your tone of voice is cool. Later you regret what you said or how you said it. Well, one change you'll notice is, even under stress, it will become easier to communicate well with people... At work that you can hear what your client is saying... between the lines. These are some of the positive changes, as a result of knowing how to access focused relaxation at will and connect with your inner tranquility.

With a short stress relief guided meditation, your busy mind and/or upset feelings dissolve...literally in 2 or 3 minutes. You become balanced and able to focus and create again. One well known author said, since meditation he writes books in six weeks rather than two years. And people who know you perceive you as calm and easy to work with.

Add 2-5 minutes of stress relief guided meditation a day. See for yourself what happens. You'll find yourself. Your calmness and joy will start to spread. They will even affect your co-workers, family and strangers on the street. You'll be able to give a lot of love through your eyes, voice and body language.

If you own a business, your clients will notice your above-average listening skills. They will know you care. People appreciate this so you will stand out as someone they enjoy doing business with.

Q. I have a busy lifestyle. How can I find time to meditate?

A. Stress relief guided meditation takes 2-5 minutes. You may wonder, How much can happen in just 2-5 minutes?? This type of meditation is called Spontaneous Meditation. It diffuses stress, balances your emotions and clears your mind, all very quickly. You can use the brief pauses between appointments and telephone calls. If you're a parent or caregiver, you have short pauses between each task. Those 2-5 minute pauses are perfect for refreshing yourself in meditation.

I provide a wide range of stress relief guided meditation types on my website. Some are audios, like the complimentary 'I Am' meditation that you receive when you request your FREE guided relaxation download (lower on this page).

If you're a busy person, I suggest the series of online guided meditation Guided Nature Meditations audios simply because you just put in your ear buds. They are all short and very effective.

Other stress relief guided meditation instructions are written out for you, like on almost every page of this website.
See what works well for you, written or audio. That's more important than the time factor.

Q. Why doesn't everyone meditate?

Guided Meditation

A. That's a great question! Adults are distracted (some say addicted) by external things. These externals actually pull your attention outside. After a while, you forget how to bring your awareness inside to your Source. Maybe it's a fear of missing something. Is anyone a Psychologist...?

In warm weather it's nice to meditate outdoors in nature.

Find a place to sit comfortably. Choose a focal point, something beautiful to gaze at. Before meditating, breathe just a little more deeply. Do this several times. Settle your body. Acknowledge any pain or stiffness. You can even breathe into an area of pain.

When you're ready, focus on your object. (Example: a flower or the water) Watch your thoughts as much as possible. Gently bring your focus back to the object each time you notice your attention has wandered or you are thinking. If your mind is active, think just one phrase. For instance, "This flower is love".

Meditating is how you decrease the psychological effects of stress and reduce the physical sysmptoms of anxiety stress. It's how you increase your peace and vitality. Let's all live long and strong!

Q. How will your stress relief guided meditation instructions benefit me?

A. You will have an effective, portable skill at your fingertips. You can use it anywhere to dissolve stress. Much of your stress likely comes from the roles you have in your life. It's easy to get so caught up in believing, I'm this role of mother, teacher, doctor and getting so lost in those roles that you forget who YOU are.

This is a large part of stress...not knowing who you are anymore. Say you have an important job and lose it. What would happen to your self-esteem? Or say you are married for 15 years and suddenly it ends. What happens to your sense of identity? The external roles can change in a moment, leaving you to wonder, "Who am I"?

Stress relief guided meditation uncovers the real you under the roles. This is the true purpose of meditation.

Why do people meditate? Because relieving stress is a side benefit of meditation techniques and the reason more and more medical doctors recommend it, especially the fun ways to relieve stress.
Nothing else is so fast, not even the gym or spa, to de-stress you in minutes, or at your desk. These are only two of the benefits you'll experience.

You will have heard or seen the Dalai Lama? Well, you'll become like that... intelligent, intuitive and happy inwardly; refined, lighthearted and kind outwardly. This one skill -- meditation -- is the most important thing you will ever do. It will definitely decrease your stress, if you do it daily.

If you use medication or substances now to cope with stress, you may find these become unnecessary after a while. So you can be healthy, happy and personally empowered and have that money for better things like vacations in Hawaii!

Q. I have so many thoughts! How can I relax?

Guided Nature Meditation

A. Don't worry! The sage Patanjali of India (400 AD) said the mind is a river of thoughts. Sometimes its currents become rapids! That river has been there for 40 or 50 years already. It's not going to stop just like that.

Your mind will cooperate with you. It just needs a focus. If you've ever tried meditating on nothing... It just doesn't work. Your mind needs something to focus on. So you switch the normal thoughts with another uplifting, positive focus. You give your mind a stress relief guided meditation or creative visualization...and, it's happy! This is how your busy mind calms down.

Long term meditators obtain a lot of control over their minds and emotions. The sages say, after a lot of meditation, your mind will only think when you want/need it to think. That growth comes from meditating daily. Have hope. Start now by doing just a little each day when it's convenient for you.

It's a shock when people begin meditating to realize how many thoughts are in your head. The sages say life energy is wasted by non-essential thinking. Try this. Sit without distractions for 10 minutes. Don't try to meditate. Listen to your thoughts... you'll find many of your thoughts aren't necessary. Thoughts are a hurtful habit, like too much of anything... talking, overeating, overworking. They can wear you out and cause illness. Stress affects health big time!

If you like to keep your home de-cluttered, think of meditation as another form of de-cluttering. When you give your mind an alternative... quiet, rejuvenating stress relief guided meditation... Like organizing clutter in your home, you make space for everything in your life to become even better.

Q. What will my family notice about me?

A. Your children and partner will tell you, "You're calmer, I like you better when you meditate." They will thank you, in some way, for listening to them more. When you're with them, rather than being distracted, you'll be fully present for them. You'll ignore your cell phone.

Think of a cold or flu. When someone at work has it, everyone else catches it. Similarly, when you radiate peace and joy, the people in your life catch your peace and joy. And if you want to share with them your secret, e-mail them a relaxation video from the website's collection, they'll be grateful you did!

Q: Can you tell more about your most popular online guided meditation audios?

A. Yes, they were created with both happiness and health in mind. They're really beautiful... I enjoy listening to them, too.

A musician wrote the relaxation music that accompanies my stress relief guided meditation instructions. Each creative visualization and meditation was inspired by nature. They're short, 3-5 minutes. The feedback has been wonderful. People find them very valuable and easy to use at work or home. Discover more about these online guided meditation gems.
